How long does it take for hp to ship their custom laptops?

I ordered what (I think) is a custom built hp laptop from costco. It has really good specs and I for an amazing deal with it so I’m excited. How long will it take to arrive? Will it b delayed because of holiday season? Thanks.

how is it being shipped? and yes it will be slower this time of the year, but i think you will have it be for xmas. If they email you a tracking number you will be able to keep up with it…

and buy toshiba tablet

toshiba tecra tablet get I really want a laptop with a Core™ 2 Extreme X9000 2.8GHz Processor but alienware is really expensive and I’ve been told by multiple people that it really isn’t worth it – and I’m just paying for the name. I want the best and fastest laptop I can get but I don’t want to overpay – are there any sites that give me the option for the processor I want that will let me customize my laptop down to color (well.. the color isn’t so important I just want it to be amazing and to last me for a while) and I like to play a lot of games so I need a lot of space, games I have on my current laptop (the entire Sims2 series among other things) goes really slow and I don’t think the game was meant to go that slow lol I’m constantly on the go so a desktop is out of the question…

You really don’t need this processor. There are a bunch of processors at that speed and u really r paying for a name. I think at least a 1.5ghz processor will do for u. The games u mentioned aren’t slow because of ur processor its actually the memory(RAM). I think ur memory might be low on ur old laptop.
Check it by right clicking on my computer and clicking properties. For gaming u should have at least 1gb of memory.
You should just buy a custom made laptop from dell.com and put in all the best stuff if u want. You total might be around $ 1500 . This lapop will run for along time and u can keep up with the future technologies.

i dont know about the custom laptops, but if its about gaming and storage, so o will suggest you to look for laptops with a GPU chipset inside (Nvidia/ ATI) instead of Intel Graphics Accearator somethin. GPU chipset will separate the use of memory instead of sharing it with a lot of features like the CPU VGA card one’s.

the latest one is Gforce 8800GTs whic is the alienware area 51 that cost you a lot. but rather than paying too much, why not trying the second option with a more less performance (after all, the sims2 is not about performance),

the custom is not buuildong one, but upgrading the pheriperals inside, like replacing the harddisk to 500GB (replacing harddisk is common) adn you can add some memory up to 4GB (optional, sold separately)

heres one i like:

Vaio VGN-FZ38 Core 2 Duo T9300 (2,5Ghz), 2GB DDR2, 300GB HDD, Blu-ray, 56K Modem, NIC, WiFi, Bluetooth, VGA Nvidia GeForce 8400, Camera, 15.4″ WXGA, Win Vista Home Ultimate

additional memory will cost less than $ 100, replacing harddisk is about 274 (hitachi 500GB, 5400rpm)

You can get better than the X9000 if you want. There is the 3.06GHz X9100, quad core 2.53GHz QX9300, you can even get the X9000 overclocked to 3.2GHz.

If you want a desktop processor in the laptop to sport a 1333MHz FSB, you can get the 2.66GHz Q9450, 2.83GHz Q9550, even a 2.83GHz Xeon X3360.

But of course you will have to pay for this ridiculous performance. You say, “I want the BEST!” Here is the link to check it out for yourself:

I agree with the first guy’s 1st sentence and 1st sentence ONLY. When he starts mentioning Dell and a 1.5GHz processor, I start to cringe. You really don’t NEED that much processing power, but it is nice to have.

I would recommend the Asus M50 or M70. It comes with the 2.5GHz T9300 and is starting around ~$ 1200 – $ 1300. They are both capable of running Crysis, which is currently THE most demanding game on the market….I feel I must mention that it obviously does not run at full settings, even high end desktops have problems running this game at full settings.

The price is right, it is truly more than you need judging from what you said you want to do, and it will make you happy for years to come. Here is where you can buy it:

By the way, your buddies are right. Alienware is very overpriced and even worse news is that they are owned by Dell. I don’t doubt that you will get a kick @ss laptop from alienware, but I also know that I can take the money you would spend on an alienware and buy a better laptop that will outperform alienware on every level…..except maybe looks. I will definitely give alienware credit for the myriad of options in the aesthetic department.

But then again, this site has many aesthetic options as well and are even more ridiculously priced (they are owned by HP):

I second the DELL XPS. I think its the right combination of power, value, and customization that you are looking for. On top of that it comes in a pretty sleek package. You can customize it to fit your performance requirements and your wallet. For some of the specs check out my website http://www.mycolorlaptop.com
