Should i get the Samsung Galaxy Ace?

It will be my first android phone, i dont use a phone to: play games, take photos, listen to music, watch videos etc. i only text, call and occasionally google maps and facebook. So when people like to update the latest android version, download apps or whatever..is it really necessary to do so? Is this phone worth getting?

Thx in advance
Please answer the bit about updating the android versions, i heard that if you dont your phone goes all strange.

Not really.

I personally just have a cheap Samsung candy-bar phone and a laptop. You don’t need all these other things, it’s just marketing.

Ya its a nice phone just try it u like it

It wouldnt be that worthert, i think a samsung galaxy s (not s2) should be a better way to go

i used to have one, its an all round decent phone but it has a cheap plastic feel. the screen resolution is pretty good and games are alright, it is a medium range smart phone so don’t be expecting it to be really good, plus it also depends on your budget

if you dont update , your phone WON’T go all strange…it would just be stuck with the same features…updates are for adding more features to the handset…if you don’t update , there wont be ant prob with your phone…only you would be missing the latest features….plus some apps may not work….
and instead of getting galaxy ace you could go for Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman…it’s better than Ace and is in the same price range…

but looking at what you do with your phone , even a cheap android would do….if google maps and facebook are the only other features of a smartphone you use.u’d better get Xperia X10 mini or Galaxy Y or some cheaper phone…

its a very good phone, excellent large screen, call sound quality real good, and great for txting, you have a choice of keyboards on it, the swype one very good. all round good phone and no you dont have to upgrade or anything, it runs froyo 2.2.1 which is just fine.
